Leonardo da Vinci’s first mobility took place from 14th of November to 18th of November 2011 in Prades, France.
On the 14th of November the arrival and welcome of the members of this Project took place.
The following day there was a meeting with the whole group at Saint Pierre Church from Prades to make a trip around the city. After that we arrived to Charles Renouvier Lyceè for a welcome meeting with the headmaster of the school. We visited the facilities and had a delicious typical Cassoulet for lunch at the school. In the afternoon we went to visit Saint Michel de Cuxá and Villafranche de Conflent. In the evening we had a meeting at school for the preparation of the project.
On the 16th of November we visited the city and the new Theatre de l’Archipel in Perpignan. In the afternoon we went to Colliure and visited the Castle and the city.
On the following day there was a rehearsal with the students for the concert while the other members organized the rest of the project. In the beginning of the afternoon the music teachers rehearsed with Fergus McKay for the evening’s concert. The concert took place in the auditorium of the Charles Renouvier Lyceè. Every student from Companhia da Música, Braga, Portugal, played their classical instrument and the students from the Lyceè made an electronic music performance. To finish the concert Fergus McKay, accompanied by the musicians of the project, played some pieces. It was a great success.
After the concert there was a dinner with the members, who each took a speciality from its own country and shared with the other members. There was also an exchange of gifts between everyone.
On the last day there was a visit to Barcelona city centre before leaving for the airport.
The students had the opportunity to live with other families and exchange cultures for a few days. They remarked that it had been a great experience.
It was an unforgettable time for everyone and we look forward for the next mobility.

Merci, Prades!
France,
A planificação
consensual.
Os nossos parceiros
franceses esmeraram-se também em mostrar-nos monumentos históricos
e localidades da região. Assim, no dia 15 começamos por visitar
l’ÉgliseSaint Pierre, em Prades, Saint Michel de Cuxa e
VilleFranchede Conflent . No dia seguinte, fomos visitar a localidade
de Perpignan e Le Château Royal de Collioure. A chuva deste dia
embelezava toda a paisagem.
seguramente melhor. Obrigada a todos pela vossa
agradável companhia!
Merci,
Prades!
From
14th
to 18th
November was the first visit of the Leonardo Da Vinci Project, to
France, Prades, Lycée Charles Renouvier. Nuno and Patrice were
excellent French hosts. They
also prepared the visit, during the five days, from morning to night.
Our friends Nuno and Patrick were great to all of us, teachers and
students. We also appreciated the way we were received by Mr.
Director who organized the first meeting with all partners and
offered us two juicy lunches. The families who welcomed students from
Portugal received us with great hospitality.
This
mobility was
important for
us to present ourselves
to everyone,
to know the reality
of schools or
institutions that
each one
represents, to
share experiences
and cultures
(also types of
food), to outline
strategies to
work and
distribute tasks
to the
two year
project. Our
project goals
demand
accuracy,
quality and
participation.
The
project
planning
and
implementation
becomes
easier
with meetings
of this nature.
In the presence
of everyone
and
everything
consensus
becomes possible.
Our
French partners
also
made great
efforts to
show us monuments
and historical
sites
in the region.
So
we started
on the 15th
visiting
l'Église
Saint Pierre
in Prades,
Saint
Michel
de Cuxá and
Ville Franchede
Conflent.
The next day
we visited the
town of
Perpignan
and Le
Chateau
Royal
of Collioure.
The rain on
this
day
conditioned
our visit,
making it
impossible for us
to visit
inside the
theater
Archipel
in
Perpignan.
Throughout
our stay, we
also appreciated
the mountains of
Conigou
and the snow
at the top
embellished
the whole
landscape.
On
the 17th,
the students from
Portugal and France and some teachers from every country in the
project presented
a concert
in the auditorium
of the
Lycée, during
the evening. The
performance
of the students
in classical
or contemporary
music
and the
improvisation of the
teachers
playing music
and lyrics
from Fergus Mckay
were
the highlight of
this mobility.
In the evening
there was a
social
dinner
for all
participants,
with treats from
every country
in
Ville Lafabregue
Hotel,
the place where
we were staying.
We went to our home country so pleased with the work produced, happy with the places we visited, and especially happy with the extraordinary partners who are part of this project group. Leonardo da Vinci – European Art Confluence will be a success, because its leaders are demanding professionals, friendly, fun and willing to make a team work, with a final product of valor.
If this mobility was extraordinary and yet we hardly knew each other, the next will surely be better. Thank you all for your nice company!
